Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed to the Scottish Parliament that the Minister for Public Health would back the resumption of lower league football later on Tuesday.
It will involve Scottish Leagues 1 and 2, the Scottish Women’s Premier League and, for Scottish Cup matches, some Highland League teams.
The Scottish Football Association imposed a temporary suspension of all third-tier football down on January 11 after a meeting with the Minister for Public Health, Sports and Welfare.
This suspension, due to the coronavirus pandemic, was initially for three weeks but has continued until now.
The leagues concerned were: SPFL League One, SPFL League Two, Scottish Women’s Football Premier Leagues 1 & 2, Highland League, Lowland League, East, West & South of Scotland Leagues, Scottish Junior FA Leagues and the North Caledonian League.
