Schiff placed on top committee where GOP will go after Biden

House Democrats are tapping Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for the House Judiciary Committee, a top committee investigating the Biden administration, after he was kicked out of the House Standing Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
Schiff — endorsed by the House this week — joined other Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, led by their ranking member, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY), in presumably waging war on the committee’s Republicans while they are investigating the Biden administration.
Prior to being placed on the Judiciary Committee, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) blocked Schiff’s nomination to the Intelligence Committee by Minority Leader Hakeem Jefferies (D-NY) to pursue a a promise he made before becoming president.
McCarthy in December 2021 told Breitbart News Washington bureau chief Matthew Boyle in a lengthy exclusive interview that Schiff “knowingly…used a false dossier” to lie to the American people.
Democrats, along with Schiff, will have to find a way to block the Republican-led committee’s investigations into Hunter Biden, the “mishandling” of classified documents by President Biden, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and the FBI and the Department of Justice.
The Judiciary Committee’s first hearing is scheduled to begin Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The panel chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) will take its first step in investigating the “Biden border crisis” and “examine border security, national security and the impact of fentanyl on the lives of Americans”.
The same committee will be on the front lines of any impeachment inquiry Republicans choose to undertake, such as the impeachment of Mayorkas.
Last week, Schiff announced he would run for the U.S. Senate seat from California in 2024 and join what is shaping up to be a crowded primary for the seat of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), who did not not yet made a final decision on whether to run. for re-election
Additionally, as Breitbart reported last week, Schiff’s announcement video quickly received an ethics complaint from a watchdog group for “clear use of official government video for campaign purposes”, violating federal law and House ethics rules, as “members are prohibited of the House to use the House and Senate video for campaign purposes”.
