Microsoft’s latest generation consoles have been hard to come by, let alone genuine discounts since its release. Today, however, shoppers can pick up a Microsoft Xbox Series S with 512 gigabytes of storage capacity for just $249.99, a remarkable $50 off, at Woot!, an Amazon-owned storefront, until exhaustion of stocks.

The Series S may not have the raw power of its sister Series X (or its competitor, the PS5), but we still consider it a great option for anyone looking for a next-gen console. And with restocks of the latest consoles from Microsoft and Sony having been scarce, this discount is likely to disappear quickly.

The Xbox Series S can play the same games as the Series X, like Ring of Elden and Dying Light 2, but at a lower resolution of 1440p. If you sign up for Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft’s gaming subscription service that starts at $9.99 per month, you get free access to over 100 acclaimed titles anytime, from 90s classic Banjo-Kazooie to the latest football bonanza Madden NFL 22.

To be clear, the Xbox Series S is generally easier to find than the PS5 and Series X, but this is the best Series S discount we’ve seen, outside of bundles, in almost two years. years.

The scaled-down Series S lacks three major things buyers should be aware of: 4K display technology, Series X processing speeds and, perhaps most importantly, a disk drive. The 512 gigabytes of built-in storage can run out quickly if you’re not careful and while Microsoft has made it easy to upgrade storage capacity, it will cost you.

We expect this offer to sell out in the next few hours. So if you’re looking to upgrade your Xbox Series S, or if you’re looking for your very first console, this deal is hard to pass up.
