Saturday rain and snow impacts

KCRA 3 is calling Saturday an impact day in Northern California due to the impact of wet weather on outdoor events and travel in the Valley and Sierra. Isolated thunderstorms were forecast for Saturday afternoon or early evening, but did not occur. The foothills saw some of the heaviest rain Saturday. The mountains didn’t receive much rain, but parts of the valley received nearly an inch of rain as of 8 p.m. SnowSnow levels could be as low as 4,000 feet Saturday morning, but these lower elevations should see little to no accumulation. At higher elevations, the Sierra Passes could see between 3 and 6 inches of snow during the day Saturday, with the best snow occurring late in the afternoon. On Sunday there could be some lingering showers, but not as many as Saturday. KCRA 3’s Orko Manna spoke with Pollock Pines residents Saturday to talk about snowfall in the Sierra this spring. While Pollock Pines residents are accustomed to this weather, some were caught off guard by seeing winter conditions at this time of year. “Enough snow!” Enough snow,” said Lee Hall. “It’s just amazing, you know this weather, we’ll be in summer in about a month and a half, and you don’t really like seeing all this cold weather. I hope it moves “Not everyone in Pollock Pines is ready to leave the snow yet. “I think it’s beautiful and refreshing, I love it. I grew up in the tropics, so I like change. I like cold weather. When to expect rain and snow in Northern California

Rain

Rain showers were heavier throughout the morning. Isolated thunderstorms were forecast for Saturday afternoon or early evening, but did not occur.
