Sarah Paulson Remembers Matthew Perry’s Act of Kindness – Deadline

During a visit to View Today, Sarah Paulson remembered the late Matthew Perry, her co-star in the 2006 NBC drama series Studio 60 on the Sunset Stripas “one of the most generous people on the planet”.
Paulson recalled how Perry, a casual acquaintance at the time, helped her prepare for the crucial audition.

“I was at a particular point in my career where I desperately needed this job,” Paulson said. See co-host Sunny Hostin, “and he, because of his friendship with Amanda Peet, who was my best friend at the time and who was also on the show – they had made a movie together called The whole nine meters – so he asked me to meet him in the parking lot for my last audition and I got in his car and he walked the whole stage with me a few times so I could get a head start on the other artist . And I got the job.
Paulson continued, “So I kind of give him credit for taking that extra time and he absolutely didn’t need to. He was just the type of person that, if you made him laugh or if you made him smile, you felt like you’d really arrived. I had the great pleasure of making him laugh several times and it made me feel really good. He was a wonderful guy.
Perry, best known for his portrayal of Chandler Bing in Friendswas found dead by his assistant in a hot tub at his home on October 28. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office listed the cause of death as deferred pending toxicology reports.
