Sarah Jessica Parker tested positive for Covid cancels ‘Plaza Suite’ on Broadway

The performance of the play has been canceled until Sunday, according to a statement Friday on the show’s official Twitter accountwho also announced Parker’s diagnosis on Thursday.

“Everyone wishes Matthew and Sarah Jessica a speedy recovery,” Friday’s statement read.

Ticket holders have been advised on how to receive a refund or reschedule to a later date.

The show’s producers gave no further details on when the show might return, only saying that news on future performances “will be announced shortly.”

The revival of Neil Simon’s classic 1968 play was currently scheduled to run until the end of June. But to make up for the canceled shows, the producers announced on Friday that they had extended the airing of “Plaza Suite” until July 1.

After Broderick’s positive test was announced, his understudy, Michael McGrath, replaced him – opposite Parker – for the Tuesday and Wednesday shows.

Broderick and Parker portray three different pairs of guests at New York’s famed Plaza Hotel in the three-act comedy.
