Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 leaks ahead of MWC 2022 launch

Alleged renders of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 surfaced online days before the laptop’s launch at MWC 2022. The shared images show a burgundy red color variant, and speculation is rife that Samsung will launch the laptop in multiple colorways. Samsung has already announced that it will launch a refreshed Galaxy Book line “to deliver best-in-class experiences” across all devices. The South Korean company also said it is continuing partnerships with Intel and Microsoft for upcoming laptops.

A Giznext report has published some images of the alleged Samsung Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 laptop in collaboration with tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka @OnLeaks). The report claims the alleged laptop is codenamed “mars 2” on factory schematic documents – suggesting a second-generation device. It’s supposed to feature a spacious keyboard and a larger mouse trackpad.

The Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 is also supposed to keep the 360-degree foldable design like the Galaxy Book Pro 360. The display, as well as the hinges, would be identical to the previous generation Galaxy Book 360. Samsung launched two Galaxy Book Pro 360 models – one in April and another with 5G capabilities in October.

The report states that the Galaxy Book Pro 2 360 may not be compatible with the S Pen. The laptop is designed to hold a 15-inch screen and offer three USB Type-C ports, a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as a microSD slot.

The news comes days after Samsung announced that it would be expanding its Galaxy Book portfolio at MWC 2022. It’s worth noting that Samsung didn’t reveal the name of the Galaxy Book laptop it will launch at MWC. Speaking of its laptop portfolio, Samsung claimed that its PC sales were up 63% year-over-year in 2021, and based on that, the company wants to further ensure that “the devices of Galaxy ecosystem work together for our users.” Samsung also said it was continuing its longstanding partnership with Intel and Microsoft.

“Together, we will achieve three goals with our soon-to-be-announced next-generation Galaxy Book lineup, which is set to transform the way people use their devices in their daily lives: a seamless experience across all devices and operation, the combination of the best of Galaxy mobility powered by Intel and peace of mind through robust security,” said Hark-sang Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of New IT R&D Team, Samsung Electronics , in the announcement blog post.

Samsung announces that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Book will offer a seamless experience with Samsung Galaxy smartphone apps such as Samsung Gallery and Samsung Notes, as well as Microsoft apps such as Office, OneDrive and Outlook for full on-the-go functionality. He also revealed that the laptops will be powered by Intel processors and have enhanced security features for safe, private and secure experiences.
