Sambre-Avesnois-Thiérache: local actors gathered around the ARS to launch work to improve the healthcare and medico-social offer

Signed on November 19 by the President of the Republic in Guise, the pact for the success of Sambre Avesnois Thiérache includes an important health component that will improve the healthcare and medico-social offer for the inhabitants of this territory.

The ambition of the Pact in terms of health is to strengthen the links and work in coordination between the various local health actors in the service of two priority objectives:

  • Reinforce the modernization of the care offer and territorial coordination in the service of health pathways: by structuring a health and medico-social center of the Sambre Avesnois Thiérache to offer the population a complementary and secure health care offer; by commissioning the new hospital center in Sambre-Avesnois; by improving hotel comfort for patients…
  • Resolutely fight against inequalities in access to care and strengthen the promotion of behaviors conducive to health: by promoting the establishment and retention of health professionals; by developing telemedicine; by avoiding the departure of disabled people for Belgium…

Professor Benoît Vallet, Director General of the Hauts-de-France Regional Health Agency has thus brought together all the players in the health system of this territory to bring them together, discuss and initiate this coordination necessary to improve the service. rendered to the public in terms of health.

Gathered at the town hall of Aulnoye-Aymeries and by videoconference on January 13, the various actors and structures of the territory presented themselves in turn to allow everyone to better know their partners and understand the global offer on the territory. Two lines of work were then developed for this first meeting:

  • That of health education, with the challenge of attracting future professionals in training, more likely to settle in this area afterwards. In Sambre-Avesnois-Thiérache, 65 doctors have already been financially supported to practice in the territory, thanks in particular to aid allocated by the ARS. Among the complementary lines of work discussed on January 13: the deployment of the health excellence sector (to facilitate the success of young people in the territory in health studies), the increase in internship opportunities in the territory for students in medicine, etc
  • that of digital with the presentation of two tools to facilitate operational links between actors and the coordinated follow-up of patients: Predicate, the regional digital solution supported by the ARS, at the service of health system players, and My health space – the new public service that allows everyone to store and share their documents and health data in complete security.

After this kick-off meeting, the organizational work between the players continues and will be supported by a specialized consulting firm, financed by the ARS. The various players will meet several times to advance their operational action plan in the second half of the year.
