Why is Saina Nehwal unhappy with BAI and against lawsuits? Two-time Commonwealth Games gold medalist Saina Nehwal is quite unhappy with the Indian Badminton Association. She alleged that BAI deliberately wanted to remove her from the Indian team. She questioned the timing of the trials selection for the CWG and the Asian Games.
βSurprised to see all the articles saying that I don’t want to defend my CWG title and my Asiad medal. I’m just not taking part in the trials because I’ve just come back from 3 weeks of European events and according to the calendar there are Asian championshipsβ, Saina tweeted.
“In 2 weeks, as a senior player, participating in consecutive events without interruption is impossible and it is at risk of injury, such short notice is not possible. I have passed this on to BAI but there is no haven’t heard back from them. Looks like they’re happy to kick me out of CWG n Asiad”, she added.
