adio Mane says he didn’t mean to offend Liverpool fans by saying he would follow the wishes of the Senegalese public by seeking to leave Anfield.
Earlier this week, the striker joked he would ‘do whatever he wants’ after claiming that ’60-70% of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool’.
Such remarks came after numerous claims that the former Southampton striker had asked to leave Anfield in pursuit of a new challenge, with Bayern Munich reportedly interested in signing him.
Out of contract in the summer of 2023, any request to leave Mane could leave Liverpool in a difficult position, especially as Mohamed Salah’s deal runs out at the same time.
“I spoke jokingly yesterday with a bit of humor and it was everywhere,” he said after Senegal’s win over Benin.
“I think we’ll stop there. Liverpool is a club that I respect a lot. Fans have embraced me since day one. For the future, we will see”
