2023 Ryder Cup All-Star Match: Format

Traditionally, the All-Star Match follows the same format as the Ryder Cup, meaning Team USA faces Team Europe.

But things have changed this year.

Instead, former Ryder Cup captains Colin Montgomerie and Corey Pavin each have a team full of celebrities, as well as two prominent disabled golfers – Kipp Popert of England and Tommaso Perrino of Italy.

The players will then be divided into three pairs on each team.

The pairs will then compete in a match-play format, with the winning group earning one point.

2023 Ryder Cup All-Star Match: What was said?

Former Real Madrid striker and multiple Champions League winner Bale is keen to get involved.

He said: “The Ryder Cup is a special event, having experienced the incredible atmosphere during the European victory in 2010, I can’t wait to relive some of that magic in Rome in a few weeks’ time.

“The All-Star Match, under the direction of Colin Montgomerie, will be an incredible experience and I am really looking forward to playing it with some great people.

“It will definitely be a premier event and the fans will really enjoy it. »

And tennis superstar Djokovic echoed Bale’s sentiments.

He said: “I can’t wait to play in Rome and experience the incredible atmosphere of a legendary Ryder Cup.

“The course looks like a fantastic test of golf and my playing partner Kipp, a seasoned professional, has won a lot recently on the G4D Tour, so I’m confident we can score a point for the team. This is going to be a great show for the fans.
