Russians can no longer sell vodka or caviar to the EU

The European Union bans imports of two of Russia’s best-known specialties: caviar and vodka.

The import bans are just a very small part of a fifth set of broader sanctions imposed on Russia by the bloc following its invasion of Ukraine. The new sanctions package includes a series of energy, financial and targeted sanctions against the oligarchs as well as import and export bans. The EU also sanctions the two daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The sanctions are expected to take effect later Friday.
