Navy vessel, which was patrolling the TurkStream gas pipeline, destroyed all incoming drones, Russian military says
The Russian Navy reconnaissance vessel “Ivan Churs” was attacked by three unmanned speedboats launched by the Ukrainian military, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
The ship was targeted early in the morning by the drones in the Türkiye Exclusive Economic Zone, some 140 km (86 miles) northeast of the Bosphorus Strait, said ministry spokesman Lt. General Igor Konashenkov, during a daily briefing.
The vessel was patrolling areas near the TurkStream and Blue Stream gas pipelines, Konashenkov noted, adding that the naval patrols were deployed after the attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines last September.
“All enemy ships were destroyed by fire from the weapons aboard the Russian ship”, added the spokesperson.
