Russian forces slow push towards Kyiv as intense shelling continues across Ukraine

Nick Schifrin:

The ruins of a residential building in a suburb of Kiev, now Moscow’s favorite battleground. Ukraine won the two-day battle for Borodyanka. Russian vehicles still line the main road, but the victory was won at a terrible cost; 15,000 people lived in a neighborhood best known for its airfield and skydiving club, now reduced to rubble by Russian indiscriminate bombing of civilian targets and those filming the targets.

Further north of Kiev, Chernihiv, also besieged by Russian airstrikes, is clearly targeting a residential area. The regional governor said that in addition to houses, the Russian airstrikes hit two schools. Dozens died. First responders try to save who they can and save what’s left.

Elsewhere, the Russians have arrived. The southern city of Kherson is the largest and most strategic city under Russian control.

Zainish Hussain filmed Russian soldiers outside his apartment. He knew it was risky.
