Russia ready for dialogue with NATO but in the presence of military experts – RT in French

While the NATO Secretary General deplores the lack of dialogue between the Atlantic Alliance and Moscow, the spokesperson for Russian diplomacy stressed that such a discussion would only make sense in the presence of experts military.

On her Telegram channel, Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, responded to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who regretted June 7 in an interview with Die welt, that the NATO-Russia Council has not met for 19 months, despite an invitation to Moscow.

“Russia is not shying away from dialogue with NATO and is ready for a real discussion on issues of de-escalation and incident prevention. But without the participation of military experts, negotiations on these issues are virtually meaningless. And Mr. Stoltenberg is well aware of it, ”replied Maria Zakharova.

Regarding the NATO Secretary General’s remark that the ball was in Moscow’s court, the diplomat said: “Speaking of the ball, Mr Stoltenberg, go back to your goals, we will score.”

In his interview with Die welt, Jens Stoltenberg had suggested resuming the meetings of the NATO-Russia Council, noting that Moscow was invited to dialogue more than a year ago, but never replied: “The ball is now in Russia’s court. . I would like to invite Russia again to participate in a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council as soon as possible. We have a lot of things to discuss, which are in the common interest of NATO and Russia. ”
