Russia designates Ukrainian Azov regiment as terrorist group

Russia’s top court on Tuesday designated the Ukrainian Azov regiment as a terrorist group, Reuters reported. This paves the way for captured Azov soldiers to be tried under anti-terrorism laws and imprisoned for up to 20 years. The Azov Regiment, which has ultra-nationalist roots, has been one of the most important Ukrainian military groups. He said Russia was seeking new justifications for war crimes with the ruling.
