Russell Brand accused of rape, sexual assault and psychological abuse
Comedian Russell Brand was accused of rape, sexual assault and psychological violence against four women at the height of his fame.
The comedian and presenter vehemently denied the allegations, insisting his previous relationships had been “absolutely always consensual”.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel and social media pages, he refuted the “very, very serious criminal allegations” and called the allegations “astonishing” and “rather baroque.”
As part of a joint investigation carried out by The Times, the Sunday Times and Channel 4, the actor was accused of sexually assaulting four women between 2006 and 2013. Others have accused Brand of predatory and abusive behavior.
One of the women claims Brand raped her in his Los Angeles home. She was forced into a painting of Brand who began raping her as she told him to “get down, get down”, she claimed.
The woman had previously met Brand at a party and met him in June 2012 to have consensual sex. The night of the alleged assault, she had come to his house after he apparently begged her to come. The woman said Brand was naked when she arrived and asked her to join him and “a friend” who was already in the room.
It was when she refused that Brand pushed her against the wall and assaulted her, she claimed.

According to a text message posted by The Sunday Times, the woman texted Brand the next day saying “for you to take advantage of me like this is unacceptable.” You have a problem, you need help… When a girl says NO, it means no.
Brand reportedly responded, “I’m so sorry…I’m embarrassed by my behavior,” according to the messages.
Another woman claims she was sexually assaulted by Brand the following year, in early 2013. She worked with Brand and had a brief sexual relationship with him before the alleged attack.

During the incident, she says she found herself trapped in a room with Brand. She claims he was naked and slammed her onto the bed while she was fully clothed.
She was screaming “please stop, you are my friend, I love you, please don’t do this”. The temperature reported. Brand finally gave in and left in tears, she claims.
Another woman claims Brand took advantage of her when she was just 16 years old.
The woman said she met Brand in 2006 on a shopping trip to Oxford Circus when she was a teenager. The meeting developed into a relationship in which, she said, Brand called her “the kid.”
She claims Brand once removed a condom during sex without her knowledge and claims he sexually assaulted her near the end of their relationship.
In 2020, the woman contacted Brand’s then-literary agent, who was also a co-founder of talent agency Tavistock Wood. She said she never heard back from the agent about her allegations, but she did hear back from Brand’s attorney.
The agency has now severed ties with the actor following the latest allegations. They said in a statement: “Russell Brand categorically and vehemently denied the allegations made in 2020, but we now believe we were horribly misled by him. TW has terminated all professional ties with Brand.
An ex-girlfriend of Brand, Jordan Martin, wrote about their relationship in 2014. She claimed that she was sexually assaulted by Brand and that he was emotionally and physically abusive towards her during their time together.
In one incident, Brand allegedly became angry with her when he found out she had been talking to an ex-boyfriend. He tore up her phone, she claimed. On another occasion, she said Brand made her brush her teeth until her gums bled so she would give him an “anonymous” taste.
In a video published before The temperature As part of the investigation, the 48-year-old said he received “two extremely worrying letters” from the newspaper and Channel 4 in which they detailed a “litany of extremely blatant and aggressive attacks”, which he all denied.
“These allegations relate to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies,” he said.
“As I have written a lot in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. However, during this period of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual.

Concerns have also been raised about Brand’s behavior while he was a Channel 4 presenter. Two former members of the team, who worked on a Big Brother spin-off, claim they were asked to approaching young women from the audience so that Brand could meet them after filming.
One rider told the newspaper that Brand flashed her in her dressing room, but felt she couldn’t tell anyone for fear of losing her job. Complaints about Brand’s behavior were reportedly reported to officials at the production company, but a company spokesperson said no record of the complaints could be found.
A woman told the newspaper that a meeting took place at Channel 4 in late 2013 or early 2014 in which Brand was considered to host a show. Concerns about his behavior were raised and it was reportedly considered that female staff could be removed from the television team.
A Channel 4 spokesperson said it was “dismayed to learn of these deeply disturbing allegations, including behavior allegedly taking place in programs made for Channel 4 between 2004 and 2007.
“We have carried out our extensive documentary searches and have found no evidence to suggest that the alleged incidents were brought to the attention of Channel 4.”
Brand rose to prominence on the comedy circuit in the early 2000s as a stand-up comedian, performing at the Hackney Empire and the Edinburgh Fringe.
However, he rose to fame as the host of Big Brother’s Big Mouth and began hosting radio programs on XFM and BBC 6 Music, before being given a two-hour slot on BBC Radio 2.
