Ahead of next month’s Xbox Games Showcase, media outlet Insider Gaming has released a new report claiming that Bethesda plans to announce a new DOOM game during the live stream, called DOOM: The Dark Ages. Sources tell the website that id Software’s new title will be “medieval-inspired”, essentially confirming that it will be a prequel to the PS4 reboot and DOOM Eternal.
That’s not all: in a separate tweet, insider Nate the Hate claims that the game will be revealed as a cross-platform game, with a PS5 version announced right away during the show.
After the release of Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded and Sea of Thieves on PS5, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, it was assumed that Microsoft would continue its cross-platform efforts with more ports.
