RT’s coverage of the 75th anniversary of the 1945 victory wins gold at New York Festivals – RT en français

MOSCOW, OCTOBER 13 – RT projects honoring the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War and a promotional clip from RT channel using deepfake technology for the US presidential election have won six gold medals at the prestigious New York Festivals international competition. The channel received ten awards in total.

RT’s video recreating the historic moment of hoisting the Victory Banner over the Reichstag in 1945 won in the Documentary / Information Program Promotion category.

RT’s VR movie Lessons from Auschwitz commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the largest Nazi extermination camp Auschwitz-Birkenau by Soviet troops won gold in the categories Video Art & Experimental Film, Production Design / Art Direction and Innovation.

The video series The War: children’s drawings in VR animation won gold in the Animation category and bronze in the Use of technology category.

RT’s documentary series #ABCdaire de la Victoire: from Brest to the Reichstag received bronze in the Feature Documentaries and History & Society categories.

RT’s promotional clip featured in the 2020 US Presidential Election won Gold in the Special Visual Effects: Promotion / Open & Ids category, and silver in the News Promotion category. During the election campaign, RT had released a video suggesting what Donald Trump’s work on RT might have looked like if he lost the election. The video was made using deepfake technology.

In July 2021, the RT project An endless letter won bronze at the New York Festivals Advertising Awards. A year earlier, the New York Festivals gold was also awarded to a book with elements of augmented reality from the multimedia project on social networks # Romanovs100. RT’s historic project # 1917LIVE, reports in Libya, Julian Assange’s show on RT and the channel’s documentaries were also the winners of the festival’s highest honor in previous editions.
