Royal Ascot 2022 betting tips for Tuesday: preview and odds for day one’s featured races

Royal Ascot is now looming after an exciting Derby at Epsom this weekend amid Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The showpiece of Ascot is set to continue in much the same way with huge prize money and plenty of horses coming from all over the world to compete in the biggest dish festival in top level competitions.

Ascot is expected to be packed again as racing fans flock to Berkshire for one of the biggest festivals on the planet

A statue of Frankel at Ascot Racecourse sits in front of the grandstand

Frankel has been a five-time course winner here and even won twice on the opening day of the festival, once at Queen Anne and once at St James’s Palace.

There might even be one or two riders this year who could duplicate Frankel’s incredible record of a 14-point unbeaten streak, with almost £3million in prize money and nine Group 1 wins.

Ascot opening day is going to be huge this year and the runners look set to put on another show.

Queen Anne Stakes Betting Tip

Baaed 1/3

Jim Crowley winning the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in October over the unbeaten Baaeed

Looking at these huge races that have enormous significance for the future, it is very helpful to look back at past winners and the trends of those winners to help guide selections for the upcoming renewal.

This is the type of 1m race that produces big winners and they are often the favourites.

Palace Pier (2021), Circus Maximus (2020), Ribchester (2017), Solow (2015), Toronado (2014) and Frankel (2012) have all won as favorites over the past ten years and these winners exemplify huge winners.

The majority of past winners were four-year-olds, with seven of the last ten meeting this criterion, only two 5-year-olds have won the Queen Anne.

This is where Baaeed fits the bill, another strong favorite who is tipped for potential and can follow up a previous Group 1 win with another here at Royal Ascot.

The undefeated colt by Sea The Stars is another example of William Haggas’ incredible season which has produced many winners.

Baaeed himself won against last year’s winners Palace Pier at Ascot in October by a neckline, then followed that Group 1 win with another at Newbury in May and looks set to improve even further to become the best flat horse to follow this flat season.

Baaeed at 1/3 currently, seems like a good price, especially if added to multiple ante-posts from Royal Ascot this year, as this horse is sure to become one of the biggest names in racing if he does. it continues that way.

King’s Stand Stakes Betting Tip

7/2 nature stripe

Could the Queen see a royal winner at Royal Ascot this year? King’s Lynn in the colors of the Queen, it’s a big prize for this Group 1

Currently, the King’s Stand on the opening day of Royal Ascot has 35 runners, but only a maximum of 28 will take part.

However, last year they were reduced to just 16 horsepower, with this year’s renewal already clearly considering two frontrunners in the ratings.

Golden Pal is around 9/4 while Nature Strip is 7/2 and 12/1 bar for the rest as outside odds with just over a week to go.

That 1 5f group sprint doesn’t often bring big winners either.

In 2015 Goldream won at 20/1 and it was the highest price in ten years, with Little Bridge coming home at 12/1 and next at just 8/1.

Battaash won that Group 1 show in 2020 followed by Oxted the following year and he continues to be a mix of winning trainers and jockeys.

But their RPRs (Racing Post Rating) have all been 125 or more and then rated within 7lbs of the highest-rated runner, while eight in 10 had raced two or more times this season.

Nature Strip fits both trends well, but the favorite Golden Pal trained by Wesley Ward has only raced once and this colt has yet to win in Britain.

A tough outing at York in the Nunthorpe Stakes saw him seventh in August and a Norfolk Stakes run at Royal Ascot in 2020 ended in a loss by a neck.

Although progressing well, this American rider could be the one to face and opt instead for the Australian rider who savored Eduardo again in April and overturned his third place in March to win by more than three lengths in Group 1.

The 7-year-old certainly has more experience than most of these runners and could perfectly use it coming to Ascot.

St James’s Palace Stakes Betting Tip

Indigenous Trail 13/2

Royal Ascot 2022 betting tips for Tuesday: preview and odds for day one’s featured races
Buick clearly gets the most out of Native Trail, Ireland’s 2000 Guineas winner

Winner of the 2000 Guineas, Coroebus is Charlie Appleby’s favorite par excellence to undertake this trip shortened by one meter.

The favorites have won this Group 1 competition five times in the last ten renewals, but the Native Trail stable mate who was only three quarters of a length behind Coroebus at Newmarket is offered at an irresistible price around 13 /2.

Either way, the St James’s Palace Stakes will welcome huge names with eye-catching pedigree.

Haggas has two starters and with the form he is in he could help My Prospero and Maljoom continue their winning form this season with a huge win at Royal Ascot.

Both colts are priced at 9/1 with a week to go and it is Godolphin blue who could still dominate this mile.

Native Trail with William Buick on board followed up its second of the 2000 Guineas with a big victory in the Irish 2000 Guineas winning by just under two lengths and justifying the favoritism.

It probably wouldn’t surprise the connections to see the two cross the line again and based on that, anything around 6 in the ante-post market is good for an early big run bet.
