Rosamund Pike will lead the cast of “Rich Flu.”
The 43-year-old actress has been cast in the viral thriller in which a deadly disease begins killing wealthy people.
The film is directed by Spanish filmmaker Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia from a screenplay he wrote with Pedro Rivero. “Spencer” director Pablo Larrain is producing the film through his Fabula banner.
The film sees a mysterious disease kill some of the richest and most influential people on the planet, starting with billionaires, then multi-millionaires, and more.
As he threatens to hit anyone with any kind of fortune, the world descends into panic as the human race tries to flood the market with unwanted assets.
The film explores how far someone would go to save their own neck when the wealth that made the world go round suddenly becomes dangerous.

Principal photography for the project is set to begin in the fall with Sierra/Affinity handling international sales and the film’s launch at the Virtual European Film Market in Berlin.
