One of McDaniel’s main criticisms, echoed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday, was the nationwide electoral underperformance as she oversaw the 2018, 2020 and 2022 election cycles. However, McDaniel says critics should look to states like Florida, North Carolina and Virginia for Republican victories.
A race that many thought would be an inevitable victory for McDaniel, her path to victory was not without its challenges, as she went up against lawyer and Republican National Committee member Harmeet Dhillon who managed to ward off voting members of McDaniel and racking up endorsements from prominent donors. , politician and conservative activists.
Both Dhillon and McDaniel are considered strong Trump allies, and the former president has remained publicly neutral, telling Breitbart News, “I love them both.”
