Ron DeSantis mocked after disastrous launch of Twitter Spaces campaign


Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (right) was mocked by Twitter users after his presidential campaign launch, which took place on a Twitter space, was plagued with technical difficulties.

The Spaces Twitter call, which is scheduled to launch at 6 p.m. EST, began several minutes late as an unidentified voice whispered that it was “quiet.” David Sacks, the entrepreneur who organizes the event, started introducing Elon Musk and claimed it was “historic” before the audio cut. From then on, the audio continued to cut out several times, with continuous echoes and seemingly random voices – not the voice of the Governor, who the conversation was about.

Daily mail ran a headline that called DeSantis’ Twitter Spaces chat “the biggest campaign launch failure in history.”

“The whole point of a prez ad is to look and sound presidential. Campaigns spend months planning them. Communications and advances teams consider every detail,” Griffin said. “Points for creativity, but it made DeSantis appear like a radio host rather than the future leader of the free world.”

“DeSedative,” Florida rep Matt Gaetz (R) tweeted while Twitter spaces were live.

Conservative influencer Rogan O’Handley called DeSantis’ announcement “bizarre”.

“It’s honestly so weird listening to the DeSantis announcement that Trump made to you. Governor Trump is crushing the polls,” O’Handley tweeted. “WHY would you want to enter this race now and split the GOP?!”

“More like Yawn DeSantis”, Jack Posobiec joked.
