India’s No.1 T20 team in the world: India’s lead over England at the top of the rankings has widened to five ranking points, up from one previously. The new classification reflects all T20I series completed since May 2019, with those completed before May 2021 weighted at 50% and subsequent series weighted at 100%.

India on a 12-game winning streak in T20 internationals: India have been in brilliant form in the format. They have won all of their 12 internationals after the disappointing ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
India saw off New Zealand, the West Indies and Sri Lanka on their home turf. After Rohit Sharma took over from Virat Kohli after last year’s global event, India haven’t lost a single T20 game.
England are second with 265 rating points. Pakistan complete the top three with 261 rating points.
South Africa, fourthhave jumped up one place – retaining their old rating points (253).
T20 World Cup Champions Australia could only finish 5th in the annual ICC scoring points update (251).
New Zealand fell two spots to No. 6, dropping five ranking points (250). The West Indies (240 points) remain in seventh place.
Bangladesh (233 points) and Sri Lanka (230 points) both moved up a position in the standings to occupy the eighth and ninth positions respectively. Afghanistan fell two places, completing the top ten after dropping six points (226).
Portugal is the biggest overall winner in the annual update, gaining eleven points (54). This saw them jump five places in the charts, rising to the 45th position.
Overall, the number of ranked teams has increased from 91 to 72, with each team required to play a minimum of six ranked games since May 2019.

“Australia increased their lead over second-placed India from one to nine points, while Pakistan overtook England to fifth in the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings after the update annual carried out today”, the ICC statement said.
“India also gained a point to move to 119 while England suffered the biggest drop of nine points, with their 4-1 win over India in 2018 now removed from the standings. The 88 points in the standings of England are the lowest since 1995”, the press release added.
Australia, who beat England 4-0 in the Ashes in January, jump from 119 to 128 ranking points in the annual update which drops the 2018-19 season and reflects all series completed since May 2019.
ICC Annual ODI Ranking: In the updated ODI rankings, New Zealand remain top but their lead over England is reduced from three to one point.
The gap between England and third-placed Australia has widened from seven to 17 points.
