Road closures for drainage work will affect some Guntersville residents

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Some Guntersville residents will have to take a different route to get to their homes next week due to maintenance work for drainage repairs, according to the police department.

Spring Creek Drive will be closed Saturday, Sept. 17, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Guntersville Police say. All residents who live on Jefferson Circle or any street before that road — including Webb Avenue, Doris Lane and Oakwood Drive — can access their streets normally.

Anyone who lives after the second Jefferson Circle entrance or after the 5400 block of Spring Creed Drive – Highland Creek Circle, Grist Mill Lane, Cedar Mill Drive, etc. – will only be able to access his homes and roads by taking the Veterans Way/AL Highway 205 road entrance sorter.

LeCroy’s Excavating crews will be working on neighborhood drainage repairs for an upcoming new subdivision in the area.

Guntersville police say they will be putting up billboards on Spring Creek Drive in the coming days to begin alerting residents ahead of construction and the impending road closure.

Authorities also say a contingency plan is in place if maintenance is not completed by the end of this day, ending on Sunday, September 18.

Officials invite anyone with questions or concerns about the road closure to call 256-571-7571.
