Job :

Heavy rain will cross our region on Tuesday morning, accompanied by thunderstorms. Storms will move into the Huntsville area after sunrise, but earlier in northwest Alabama. Lightning is a threat in any thunderstorm. The stronger ones can produce gusty winds. In addition, a storm can form in the afternoon with peak heating of the day.

The Storm Prediction Center included parts of our region in a marginal risk of severe storms on Tuesday. This is a 1 in 5 risk on the scale. This means that an isolated severe storm will be possible.

On Wednesday, a strong cold front is expected to cross the Tennessee Valley. This front will bring yet another round of showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has part of our area under an increased risk (3/5) of severe thunderstorms on Wednesday. The main threats will be damaging winds and hail, although a tornado is possible along the storm line.

Now is the time to start thinking about your weather safety plan and preparing for severe storms.
