Brazil were in the mood for the Tokyo Olympics as the Selecao scored three in the first half of their 4-2 opening win over Germany.
Everton ace Richarlison scored all three goals in 30 minutes as the six Olympic gold medalists ran their campaign in style.
With the treble, Richarlison became the first player in Premier League history to score a treble at the Games.
The 24-year-old got his debut after Antony delightfully played it on goal with a defensive pass.
The Toffees ace landed his shot just inside the box, but the goalie saved it before continuing to hit the rebound on the half volley into the net.
Richarlison got the second from close range after Arana’s good work on the flanks.
And he completed his hat-trick inside the half-hour, cutting off his right foot, before picking his spot and buckling the ball in the far corner.
The game ended 4-2 with Germany managing to pull out two goals, but Brazil held on and capped their victory with a late goal from Paulinho.
It was a brilliant display from Richarlison, however, and Everton fans are hoping he can continue his good form under new boss Rafael Benitez – although he won’t be around for the start of the season in reason for participating in the Games.
