Reviews Blown Away With ‘Avatar 2’

(KTLA) — Fans of James Cameron’s “Avatar” have waited 13 years for the movie’s sequel.

Critics who caught a glimpse of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ at the London premiere took to social media to give a brief glimpse into their experience.

Although sequels sometimes tend to be frowned upon for not being as good as the original, that doesn’t seem to be the case for this movie.

Guillermo del Toro said the project reminded him why people watch movies in the first place.

“I’ll say it again: ‘Avatar 2’ – seeing it, you realize how long you haven’t seen a MOVIE-MOVIE (like that, in all caps),” he said. tweeted.

Critics gave Cameron and the film rave reviews.

Erik Davis of Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes seems to have been blown away.

Film critic Jake Hamilton, who liked but disliked the original film, was very impressed with the sequel.

KTLA’s Sam Rubin was among the media who attended the premiere. “I was hit,” he explained. “During a three hour movie, I never left my seat and never looked at my watch.”

He said he thought the film, while appropriate for families with children over 10, would be a perfect date night movie.

“James Cameron once again shows filmmakers how it’s done. I’ve said it a thousand times” tweeted MTV News’ Josh Horowitz. “Never doubt him. ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is how you make epic blockbusters. Emotional, visceral and as big as the movies.

The film had such an impact on Screenrant’s Joseph Deckelmeier that he’s convinced Cameron is from another planet.

Empire Magazine editor Amon Warmann praised the film’s 3D visual effects on Twitterbut said that “many scenarios feel like they have to stop and start again, and the high frame rate was hit or miss for me.”
