International news outlet Reuters hits out at what critics call a “diabolical”, “dismal” and “appalling” tweet about a Palestinian terror attack on Israelis on a busy Tel Aviv street.
A terrorist opened fire in a crowded bar in central Tel Aviv on Thursday, killing two people and injuring more than 10. After killing the gunman in a shootout on the Friday morning after the attack, Israeli police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Ra’. ad Fathi Hazem, a Palestinian refugee.
Although people reading a Reuters headline about the terror attack didn’t pick up any of those details.
The headline (and corresponding Reuters tweet) read: “Israeli Forces Kill Palestinian After Attack on Tel Aviv Bar.”

Conservative pundit Dave Rubin spared no effort. “It’s truly amazing how evil the corporate press is,” he tweeted.
Newsbusters deputy editor Nicholas Fondacaro blasted the outlet, tweeting: “Reuters supports Palestinian terrorists’ efforts to kill Jews. Made.
Israeli journalist Emanuel Miller called the headline “dismal” and criticized the outlet for updating its story following the backlash, but leaving the headline unchanged.
He tweeted: “Watch carefully. @Reuters is criticized for this deplorable headline after a Palestinian terrorist shot and killed two Israelis last night. The article was updated a few minutes ago. But the headline did not not changed.”
