Manchester United could be ready for big changes in the January transfer window if they are able to bring in Mauricio Pochettino immediately.
The former Tottenham boss is the favorite to occupy the hot seat at Old Trafford as talkSPORT understands he could leave Paris Saint-Germain right now for the Red Devils.
Sitting in eighth place in the league, 12 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea after 12 games, the club had no choice but to sack club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
After bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in the summer transfer window, many had suggested that Man United fight for the league.
Unfortunately for the Norwegian, he was unable to fulfill that hope and subsequently lost his job.
Despite the gloom surrounding the club at the moment, should Pochettino arrive he would almost certainly be supported in the January transfer window, and talkSPORT.com takes a look at how three players could help turn things around at Old Trafford …
Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)
The English prodigy is the name on everyone’s lips right now after having produced several stellar performances in Germany.
Having witnessed Fred and Scott McTominay for so long and not being impressed with the duo when they played together, Man United fans would be desperate to see the Dortmund star on their squad.
The sensational England central midfielder is expected to cost potential buyers £ 100million, but given his age and potential, it would almost certainly be money well spent.
Additionally, Pochettino was well known for bringing in young players during his time at Spurs, having signed Dele Alli and helped develop Harry Kane and should the opportunity arise he would not hesitate to work with Bellingham at Old. Trafford.
Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid)
The England right-back could find Pochettino after spending four seasons under the Argentine at Spurs.
With current first-choice defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka having failed to impress this season, Man United could look to bring the 31-year-old to Old Trafford.
Over the summer, the club wanted to bring in Trippier but were unable to meet demands from Atletico Madrid.
Jules Koundé (Seville)
Sevilla center-back Jules Kounde is another name likely to enter Pochettino’s backline.
The French defender has drawn the attention of many in La Liga and, like Trippier, was heavily linked with the Red Devils this summer.
Chelsea were also enthusiastic and, if Man United were to beat the Blues to secure his services, they would have to trigger their release clause which would be € 80million (£ 67million).
As the club chose to sign Raphael Varane, but given the shocking performances of club captain Harry Maguire, the United hierarchy may have no other choice but to pair the Sevilla defender with the former Real Madrid man.
