Reunion and Martinique under tension with the return of health restrictions

The number of Covid-19 cases is on the rise again in Reunion Island and Martinique. In Martinique, the health measures taken by Emmanuel Macron do not pass. A demonstration was organized Tuesday in Fort-de-France against the return of the state of health emergency and the curfew.

In Mayotte, around twenty sirens have been installed by the state to alert the population of the arrival of cyclones and tsunamis.

On December 12, voters in New Caledonia must vote in a referendum on independence. A document prepared by the government was presented Friday by the High Commissioner of the Republic to Caledonian political parties and civil society.

Also in New Caledonia, a seabed cleaning and trash hunting operation was organized by around twenty volunteer divers.

Finally in Guyana, the great-granddaughter of Captain Dreyfus went to the place where his grandfather was detained, 126 years after his sentence in prison.
