Restaurant review: Eccetera – POLITICO
What is not? Not recommended if you are gluten intolerant or following a strict low-carb diet.
Atmosphere: The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere will make you feel welcome from the start. The decorations are modern, simple and elegant. The restaurant is divided into three floors, with the third reserved for large groups and private events only.
Who gets the check? Considering the average price of a pasta dish in Brussels, this restaurant has managed to keep prices reasonable. Traditional pasta plates range from €13 to €18, while more sophisticated options range from €17 to €21. The house wine (75cl) costs €23 and desserts €6.50 each.
Spotted: Strategically located behind the bustling Place Jourdan in the European district, this restaurant has become a must-visit place for European officials. Whether you come here for a working lunch or a nice dinner with your colleagues, you will find yourself among an international crowd.
Insider tip: Even though the antipasto options look delicious and the pasta portions are large, we still recommend leaving some room for dessert. The homemade tiramisu is a must.
Fun fact? If you hadn’t already guessed, “Eccetera” is Italian for et cetera, and that perfectly fits the spirit of the restaurant: it’s a place to chat and laugh while enjoying delicious pasta and wine.
How to get there: It is a 10-minute walk from the Schuman roundabout. Walk down Rue Froissart to Place Jourdan. The restaurant is located just behind the famous chip shop Maison-Antoine.
