Reports of fallen grain silo blocking road in Butler County following heavy storms

WEATHER EVENT RIGHT NOW, KEVIN. So we’re going to be transparent with the spectators here and let them know that we want you to stay there, close to the weather center. And as soon as you have something important, shout and shout and we will get back to you. ALL RIGHT? So this is what we will do with you. In the meantime, we would like to contact some of our journalists. We are hearing reports of damage throughout Greater Cincinnati. I was just looking on social media. Butler County EMA is everywhere. They had mentioned to me that this semi-truck that overturned was apparently on a farm, overturned several times. Sometimes they have a grain elevator seemingly in the middle of the road. POSTS THAT ARE AT THE BOTTOM. So many of our regions are hit hard tonight. CHRIS JACOBS IS IN BUTLER COUNTY. CHRIS, CHRIS, WHERE EXACTLY ARE YOU? AND TELL US WHAT YOU SEE. YEAH. So right now we’re outside of a town called Matt Donegal, Ohio. It’s just outside of Oxford, maybe 10 or 15 minutes southeast of Oxford. JUST NORTHWEST OF MILLVALE. Um, we’re talking about some of the damage that we’ve seen or at least reported seeing. Um, we noticed a few power lines down. You see, one of them is right behind me. DUKE ENERGY IS HERE. They are working to try to resolve some of this situation. AND ALSO ON STILLWELL BECKETT ROAD, WHICH IS RIGHT BEHIND ME. We hear about this broken silo that is still blocking well. BECKETT ROAD. Um, you can’t really see it from here. Downed power lines also occur in this direction. So the first responders here and the law enforcement that are here right now, they’re not going to allow us to get any closer. But we’re hearing about a silo going down as well as some of the downed power lines we’re seeing right now. We were talking to a neighbor who lives just up the road after all the damage here in Stillwell Beckett. She tells us that she heard the destruction this storm was bringing to us, and that she was absolutely terrified when all of this was happening. I’ve been home for maybe 20 minutes. I FED MY DOGS. I let him out and got ready to shower and go to bed. And the next thing I know, the lights started flashing really hard and the front door and back door of my house both flew open all of a sudden and like it was just a gust of wind and it shook the house as if the house was. I was going to come off the foundations and it was almost like a train. It hit home, that’s what it sounded like. And the whole house shook. And then there are cops everywhere. And they told me we had just been hit by a tornado. Yeah, you can imagine how terrified she described him being. Like a freight train hitting his house. BUT AGAIN, POWER LINES HAVE FALLEN ON STILLWELL BECKETT ROAD. IT’S JUST NEAR MCGONIGLE, OHIO. And then, uh, a broken silo, actually, on the road here on Stillwell Beckett Road. THE ROADS ARE OBVIOUSLY CLOSED AT THIS TIME. WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CONTACT YOU DUE TO SECURITY ISSUES, BUT WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED. Um, once these roads reopen, law enforcement isn’t really telling us when that might happen. REPORTING LIVE FROM BUTLER COUNTY, CHRIS JACOB
