The drama surrounding Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets continues.

After weeks of quiet, the latest rumors have it that Durant considers both the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers to be teams he’d like to join if the Nets give in to his request and trade him.

But it remains to be seen whether the Celtics are ready to pony up the huge assets Brooklyn is asking for.

Here’s a player who won’t be on the chopping block for Boston: Robert Williams III.

It is reported that Williams would be off limits in trade talks for Durant.

There are other big Boston stars who could be sent to Brooklyn to get Durant, but Williams won’t be one of them.

It’s a good thing for Celtics fans because Williams has become a fantastic big man for the team.

Williams winner

Williams has been a crucial part of Boston’s frontcourt.

Last season, he averaged 10 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2 assists.

He played a pivotal role when the team got far in the playoffs.

His importance was most noticeable when he was injured and the Celtics struggled to stop shots and grab the boards.

Williams makes it all easy and he fills out the roster, does his job well and makes the team even more dangerous on both sides of the pitch.

The Nets would be happy to have Williams, but that’s something the Celtics can’t afford.

They are ready to give up others, like Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart.

But the team isn’t going to cut itself out entirely to get Durant, no matter how good he is.
