Report: Warriors C James Wiseman out for the season

There is some unfortunate news for the Golden State Warriors on the James Wiseman injury front.

Wiseman is out for the rest of the season, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday. The news comes after we learned that Wiseman suffered a setback in his recovery from a knee injury.

Wiseman underwent surgery last April to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. He was originally scheduled to return in January, but that schedule has been pushed back. Wiseman needed additional surgery in December.

The former No. 2 draft pick was cleared to play with G-League team Golden State earlier this month and has performed well. He appeared to be close to a comeback but recently suffered a setback as swelling occurred in his knee.

Wiseman played in 39 games as a rookie last season, averaging 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds in 21.4 minutes per game. Now he is losing his entire second season due to an injury from last year.
