MUSTANG, Texas (KXAN) – A small town about an hour southeast of Dallas is now believed to be owned by billionaire Mark Cuban.
The Dallas Morning News reported Thursday that the owner of the Dallas Mavericks had purchased the community of Mustang, Texas in Navarro County. The city is estimated to have around two dozen residents, and the only businesses are a mobile home park and a strip club.
Cuban told the Dallas newspaper he bought the property to help a friend and said he was not sure what to do with it yet.
Online reports show that the city was put up for sale in 2017 for $ 4 million, although it is not known how much Cubans paid for the community.
Nexstar’s KXAN reached out to Cuban on Thursday afternoon to comment on the reported purchase as well as its plans for the community, but did not respond until the post.
Earlier this year, a small town in Tennessee formerly known as Water Valley went on sale for just $ 725,000. Located about an hour southwest of Nashville, Water Valley spans seven acres of land and has an estimated population of 20, according to the listing agent.
