Rep. Andy Kim announces he will run against New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez following his indictment

New Jersey Democratic Rep. Andy Kim on Saturday announced a 2024 Senate challenge to Sen. Bob Menendez following the senator’s indictment and refusal to resign.

“After calls to resign, Senator Menendez said, ‘I’m not going anywhere.’ As a result, I feel compelled to run against him. Not something I expected, but NJ deserves better. We cannot jeopardize the Senate or compromise our integrity,” Kim posted on Xthe platform formerly known as Twitter.

Kim has represented New Jersey’s District 3 since 2019.
