Reliance Jio launches prepaid mobile plans bundled with Netflix subscription

Reliance Jio on Friday launched two prepaid mobile plans bundled with a Netflix subscription.

The company said this is a first global prepaid plan partnership for Netflix.

“We are committed to providing world-class services to our users. The launch of Netflix plans with our prepaid plan is another step to demonstrate our resolve. Our partnership with global partners like Netflix has strengthened and together we let’s create use cases that the rest of the world will follow,” Kiran Thomas, CEO of Jio Platforms, said in a statement.

A Netflix subscription is already available on some Jio Postpaid and Jio Fiber plans, but this is the first time that a Netflix subscription will be available on a prepaid plan.

With this launch, over 400 million Jio prepaid customers will have the opportunity to enjoy a Netflix subscription through a Jio Prepaid bundle plan.

“Over the years, we have launched a variety of hit local shows, documentaries and films, which have been loved by audiences across India. Our collection of must-read stories is growing and our new prepaid plan partnership with Jio will provide access to more customers. to this exciting lineup of Indian content as well as incredible stories from around the world,” said Tony Zameczkowski, Netflix VP of APAC Partnerships.

The company offers two plans priced at Rs. 9,999. 1,099 and Rs. 1,499 with 84 days validity with Netflix subscription.

The plan costs Rs. 1,099 will offer Netflix mobile subscription, unlimited 5G data or 2GB 4G data per day and unlimited voice calls.

The Netflix mobile separately costs Rs. 9,999. 149 per month and allows watching content on mobile phones only.

The higher plan of Rs. 1,499 will offer the basic functionality of Netflix, which will allow users to watch simultaneously on their mobile or TV. It will offer similar benefits as the cheaper version, but will offer 3GB of 4G data per day.

The Netflix base plan separately costs Rs. 9,999. 199 per month in India.

The 2GB data plan with unlimited voice calls and 84 days validity costs Rs. 9,999. 719, and the same plan with 3GB data starts at Rs. 719,999.
