Redmi Note 12 series with MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC will be launched on October 27: all the details

Redmi has also confirmed some of the specs for the Note 12 series. The new phones will be the first devices to feature the recently launched MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC.

Redmi’s latest Note series will be officially announced on October 27 in China, the company confirmed via a Weibo post. Apart from confirming the launch date, the company also released some specs of the Redmi Note 12 Pro series via a bunch of posts on Weibo.

In the first post, the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that the Redmi Note 12 Pro series will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC which was launched recently. The chipset is said to provide improved battery life and performance on smartphones.

Next, the company also revealed that the Redmi Note 12 Pro range will use the 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor on its triple rear camera setup. This popular sensor offers optical image stabilization (OIS) and is 1/1.56″ in size allowing it to capture plenty of light.

Finally, Redmi also teased the rear design of the Redmi Note 12 Pro series and also confirmed the color options. According to the Weibo post, the new smartphones will come in Shallow Dream Galaxy and Time Blue (translated) color options.

The next series of Redmi Note 12 phones have been spotted on 3C and TENAA. According to a 3C listing, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ offers 210W fast charging support, while the Note 12 Pro will max out at 120W. The standard variant is said to offer 67W fast charging support. Additionally, the TENAA listing suggests that the Note 12 Pro+ and Note 12 Pro will receive a 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The listing also showed that the Note 12 Pro is getting a battery 4,980 mAh cell, while the Note 12 Pro+ houses a 4,300 mAh cell. We will have to wait a few more days to find out if this is true.
