Real Madrid are a good team but I think Liverpool will win the game, reveals Jamie Carragher

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has admitted he believes Liverpool will claim victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League final as the Spanish side rely on luck to overcome their opponents en route to the final. The two teams face off on Saturday at the Stade de France.

Liverpool were on course for a historic treble this season as they sought to seal the Premier League title after winning the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Unfortunately, the Reds failed to prevent Manchester City to reign as champions in a high-stakes title race between the pair.

The Merseyside club can still secure a cup treble as they stage a Champions League final clash against real Madrid this Saturday. The two teams met in the final of European competition in 2018, where the Spanish side emerged victorious as they won their third successive Champions League title.

Los Blancos will be aiming to win their fifth European title in ten years as Carlo Ancelotti leads his camp against Jurgen KloppSaturday’s men at the Stade de France. Liverpool icon Jamie Carragher has insisted his former side will win the final as they don’t rely on luck like their counterparts do.

“I have watched Real Madrid in the Champions League this season and they have lost more Champions League games than Liverpool have lost all season in all competitions. Real Madrid are a very good team but they are not as good as Man City and I don’t think they are as good as chelsea – even though they beat them both,” Carragher told Sky Sports.

“You can play both ways with the spirit, winning, coming back, but they brought a lot of luck in those games. If you win every game at the last minute coming from behind, if you’re such a good team, you don’t find yourself in this position all the time. Of course, it’s a unique game. I just think that if Liverpool faced Real Madrid in a unique game, had their team and played close to their best, they would win the game. I’m confident,” he added.
