The minutes of the Reserve Bank of Australia’s August meeting will be released at 01:30 GMT on Tuesday 16 August 2022.
Note from this post that Jusin pointed out that there was a:
a subtle change in their forward orientation. In this passage, the central bank changes the wording on the rate hikes by saying that it is now taking further steps in terms of policy normalization and not withdrawing monetary support.
And, even more notable:
However, the big change is that policy makers may not be on a “predefined path” moving forward.
I posted earlier that further clues will be sought for the way forward. For the September meeting (declaration expected on the 6th), I have blocked a rate hike of 50 basis points.
As for the title of this article, I will pass quickly. Coming to Australia later this week are second quarter earnings data (Wednesday local time) and July jobs data (Thursday).

- The times in the leftmost column are GMT.
- The numbers in the rightmost column are the “previous” result (previous month/quarter, as applicable). The number in the column next to that, where is a number, is the expected consensus median.
I will have more to come on these separately.
