Rangnick provides update on Man United future amid Austria job links

alf Rangnick has confirmed he will have the option of accepting another managerial role as he prepares to begin his consultancy role with Manchester United.

Reports have emerged establishing a close link between the German and the Austrian national team, a role he did not comment on after United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Thursday.

However, he outlined his plans to continue at Old Trafford as he moves from caretaker manager to first-team consultant when Erik ten Hag takes charge this summer.

Rangnick told Sky Sports: “I’m talking tonight about United and our game, I can also say that I will definitely continue for the next two seasons in my role as a consultant.

“We have agreed on the content and duration of my role and so far Erik and I have not spoken, but hopefully we will in the future.

“I am more than happy and ready to help. That would leave room for other work, but that’s what we agreed to last year.
