Giovanni Van Bronckhorst’s men will now host the Primeira Liga side and will need to be at their best to turn the tide.

Rangers, who recently lost at home to Old Firm rivals Celtic, won 4-0 at St Mirren on Sunday.

The Glasgow giants will face Celtic again in the Scottish Cup semi-finals this weekend, but first they will have to focus fully on Braga.

The winner of this tie will face either Atalanta or RB Leipzig in the semi-finals with their level tied at 1-1.

Rangers v Braga: Team news

Rangers defender Filip Helander is out for the rest of the season with a foot injury.

The Swede had to retire in the first half of Sunday’s win over St Mirren at Paisley.

Van Bronckhorst said: “Filip’s injury is not good so we don’t have him for the rest of the season.

“He had a history of injuries, unfortunately for him and unfortunately for us not being able to pick him.

“I don’t know if he needs surgery yet, but he has a foot injury, an injury he also suffered in the other foot, so all I can say now is is that we’re going to make sure he’s ready for pre-season next season.

The Gers boss has also revealed that John Lundstram, who left with a knock against St Mirren, will train ahead of the clash with Braga.

He said: “John is training [Wednesday]so hopefully he will pass the training and be available for Braga.

Calvin Bassey and Ryan Jack missed the trip to Paisley but Van Bronckhorst said: “Both are available for Braga.”
