The Rangers remembered one of Rougned Odor’s biggest hits on their farewell graphic.
Odor was nominated for an assignment last week and was traded to the Yankees on Tuesday, April 6, ending a relatively uneventful career in Texas. “A little” is the operative term, however, because we come to the five-year anniversary of Bautista odor leveling with the cleanest punch ever thrown in MLB history.
Rooted in Ranger history, Texas recognized this and decided to include the punch on its farewell to Odor graphic on Tuesday.

Odor has barely been a replacement level player since that punch, however, amassing just a 1.0 fWAR since 2017, which led the Rangers to decide to part ways with second baseman, and finally to exchange it.
Odor has been sent to the Yankees (where he will be forced to shave off his gorgeous facial hair) in exchange for a pair of minor league outfielders. He is expected to play a second and a third with New York.
Texas is still on the hook for around $ 27 million from Odor’s contract.
But some moments are worth more than money, and the punch absolutely is one of them.
