Putin promises greater cooperation with North Korea and the Taliban

Vladimir Putin said that Russia and North Korea would expand their bilateral relations. Putin told North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that the two countries would “expand comprehensive and constructive bilateral relations through joint efforts”, Pyongyang’s official KCNA news agency reported on Monday. Separately, Russia’s ambassador to Kabul, Dmitry Zhirnov, said working with the Taliban was necessary where it “suited our interests”, the Guardian reported.
