Puneri Paltan’s Mohit Goyat stuns with three in do-or-die raid

In the PKL, some players have carved out a place for themselves. While some have become the best defenders, some have established themselves as world-class raiders; but season nine saw the rise of Puneri Paltan’s Mohit Goyat as the top do-or-die raid specialist.

Friday, during the match between Puneri Paltan and Haryana Steelers, which ended in a 27-27 draw, Mohit Goyat just showed why he’s the best person to go to, in a do-or-die raid. The incident happened early in the game, but the youngster’s effort earned Paltan three points as the Steelers led 2-0.

For Paltan, Aslam Inamdar and Goyat had returned with two empty raids, which meant their next raid was going to be a do-or-die raid. Skipper Fazel Atrachali chose Goyat for the raid, and the latter did not disappoint. Not only did Goyat manage to land a super raid (three points), but he showed great vigilance on the mat against a seven-man defense.

Goyat tried his best to get a touch in the first 29 seconds of the raid but never succeeded. On the final attempt, he simply moved from the right flank to the left flank, while corner Nitin Rawal followed him and attempted a hold. Along with Rawal, people like Jaideep Dahiya and Manjeet also tried to stop him but failed. Somehow, Goyat managed to throw his hand past the baulk line with just 0.2 seconds to spare.

This is how we attack!🔥

Massive game!🔥
