The protest came after the Senate passed legislation to bolster security for Supreme Court justices, ensuring they and their families are protected as the court deliberates access to the abortion and whether to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade.

The bipartisan bill aims to put the court on an equal footing with the executive and legislative branches, ensuring the safety of the nine justices, as some protesters gathered outside their homes. The bill is now returned to the House for consideration.
