prevent any attempt to cross the Channel by doubling patrols – RT in French

Causes of human tragedies and tensions between Paris and London, attempts at illegal crossings increased in 2020. Forced by agreements with England, France is increasing its resources to prevent departures from its coasts.

On November 29, 2020, Paris and London announced that they had reached an agreement to put an end to illegal immigration through the Channel, with a “high number” of attempts having been observed this year. As a result, French patrols will be doubled by December 1 and surveillance devices will be deployed on French beaches.
