The Department of Vocational Training intends to start the process of preparing for the General Vocational Training Competition in the near future. The ministry will have to recruit technical assistance next June 21 to support it in this project. The service provider who will be selected will be responsible for developing a common job reference system for all training operators involved in the same job, in order to ensure homogenization before the production of the competition or competition reference system. It will also be a question of drawing up the reference documents for competitions relating to the skills and content to be assessed and to the evaluation criteria for each profession covered by the competition.
The latter will concern 8 trades, namely cooking, jewellery, building design, automotive technology and maintenance, multimedia development techniques, third-class mechanic official, installation and maintenance of solar equipment. and model making. The competition allows the promotion of trades and promotes young people who have opted for the vocational training mode by rewarding the best trainees in the national vocational training system. Through this competition, the date of which has not yet been announced, the Ministry intends to develop the spirit of creativity and innovation among young trainees and promote the opening of vocational training to professional circles. The competition will also help develop the spirit of competition between training operators and their establishments. In order to give a new impetus to this competition, a reflection for its redesign was carried out with the support of the European Union and WorldSkills France by involving all the partners to rethink the methods of organization of the competition and institutionalize the contributions of each stakeholder. Thus, a new approach to organizing this competition has been adopted. This provides, in fact, for the establishment of tools including the reference frameworks for professions, those for competitions as well as new forms of subjects by profession subject to the competition.
