Premier League yellow cards 2023/24: Chelsea, in-form West Ham and Newcastle among players close to suspension

Premier League players are already set to be suspended just a few games into the new season following a crackdown on indiscipline.
The 2023/24 campaign followed through on predictions that officials would be tougher on bad behavior and time wasting.
As a result, the new guidelines have led to referees handing out more yellow cards than ever before at this stage of the season.
Any Premier League player who accumulates five bookings in the first 19 league matches will be suspended for one match.
Matchday 19 again takes place over the festive period, with most teams in action on Boxing Day, before a slight respite in 2024.
Players who accrue double-digit bookings before and including the 32nd game of the season will be suspended for two additional games.
But due to the new stricter rules, expect stars to fall foul sooner rather than later, with some already walking a thin line…
